Who are we?

Prsma is a company created by a M-ITI team associated with an entrepreneur from the electronics industry, to commercialize “ENERGY SPECTRUM “, a system developed and tested in the framework of a success research project. Our team encloses experts in information technologies, energy, psychology and experience in entrepreneurship

The Enerspectrum Box

The Enerspectrum box is the first commercial venture of a research team expert in the development and deployment of eco-feedback systems
The Ennerspectrum is a plug-and-play box capable of measuring 2 channels of energy consumption and pushing that data to the cloud

Low cost

We have built a low-cost integrated sensor capable of measuring and disaggregating consumption and generation of energy.

Middleware services

We have developed a middleware web service system and several end-user interfaces for mobile platforms. These were extensively tested with real users and provided meaningful feedback in terms of their potential or energy reduction, raising awareness and informing behavior change

Activity tracking

Our system is capable os detecting meaningful family activities (e.g. meals, entertainment, cooking, laundry) from the low-cost sensor. It can also be used to optimize and generate recommendations for automation based on crowdsourcing of data

Real world tested

We have successfully deployed real-world research oriented testbeds of our low-cost non-intrusive sensing infrastructure in conjunction with utility companies

Our History

Prsma was founded in 2015, and in November of that same year was awarded the European H2020 SME Instrument (H2020-SMEINST-1-2015)

In 2014 we started working in our Enerspectrum box and exploring how the consumption data can be visualised using less traditional representaions

Second multi house sensing platform deployed

In 2013 we tested our multi house sensing prototype capable os measuring energy from all the houses of an apartment building, placing our sensor in one single location in the building

First prototype of the sensing algorithms and hardware was created using mostly off-the-shelf equipment.

Real world deployment of the first prototype in the city of Funchal, Madeira.

Thirty families tested the system.

In 2010 the SINAIS project was launched

This project assembled researchers from all over the world to work on energy sensing and monitoring. Four of the six membres of Prsma belong to that initial group with five years of experience in the field
